Mixed Media for Art Journal and Scrapbooks

Kristy started scrapbooking when a neighbour showed her a scrapbook about her daughters. She fell in love with creating a documented story about her boys as they didn’t have a conventional upbringing. She felt that this was her way of creating a legacy for them that would trancend time and even if the boys didn’t appreciate it… Maybe her grandkids would.

Over the years though the boys grew and the ‘moments’ were governed by puberty and a reluctance to be photographed. These kids weren’t into the usual teenage things like snapchat and selfies, much to her dismay..

So what was one to do with a lifetime collection of scrapbooking supplies?? Mixed media of course!

Kristys life took a giant leap forward following sites like Dusty Attic and Prima… Well Finnabair in particular when Maremis Small Art burst onto the scene with her tips and hints on making the most out of your stash and de-mystifying product confusion.

As time progressed Kristy also discovered Design Teams!! What a journey. Her credits include designing for a UK Card blog called Creative Moments, Scrap the Boys – Card makers, Art & Soul studio (Hervey Bay), Bee Arty Colour Blast and The Scrapbook Superstore. It was the Scrapbook Superstore that started hosting face to face classes in Mixed Media and Art Journalling for Kristy and the rest is history as they say.

Kristy’s design team career reached a pinacle when after wining two challenges for Dusty Attic in three months they hosted their first Design Team call EVER! With her hat in her hand Kristy applied never dreaming that she was on the same level as the international Mixed Media Scrapbookers and artists that they showcase… and was selected.

Kristy now has Classes bi-monthly at the Scrapbook Superstore and is launching her online course to help newcomers to the craft develop their skills and confidence and help those that may not have access to classes in remote communities discover a network of like minded crafters.

Look out for new E-courses and keep an eye on The Scrapbook Superstore to join in.
